emotional dialysis

di·al·y·sis (dī-ăl'ĭ-sĭs)

  • The separation of smaller molecules from larger molecules or of dissolved substances from colloidal particles in a solution by selective diffusion through a semi-permeable membrane.
  • Eg: Hemodialysis

Its the only way End-Stage Renal Failure patients survive. Its either by the machine, or by stabbing yourself in the belly. No dialysis equals 6 ft underground. Simple as that. Cruel? Yeah, I know.

What about emotional dialysis?

Everyone goes through crap each day. And when the day ends, we each have our own methods of dialysis. To filter out the emotional uraemia that hits us everyday. Cleanses the filthy blood and removes the obscenities that runs through our veins.

Emotional infections are bound to exist. Mostly opportunistic. Our survival then depends on the emotional antibiotics that we get, ie. our family or friends. No mercy. Just nuke 'em. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria? God forbid.

As long as the dialysis works, you'll be fine.

Just pray the machine doesn't break down. If not, then you're screwed (emotionally & literally).

ooo... deep.

But there's a lot of truth there. A lot. Prob is not everyone goes thru this process... thus the plenty of bad blood around.

Thank God our machine is hooked into an eternal source. One that will never run dry or break down. Amen?
